15th Annual Holiday Tour - ESVA Artisans Guild
10am-5pm. Each year on Thanksgiving weekend guild members open their private studios to the public. This is a self-driving holiday shopping & wine tasting tour at Chatham Vineyards. This special opportunity allows visitors to observe over 40 artisans working in media like wood, floor cloths, stonework, jewelry, ceramics, glassware, fiber, and sculpture at 14 locations from Onancock to just north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. During this time of holiday gift giving, the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce reminds us to "Shop Small" and explore the fabulous art galleries, specialty shops, book stores, and other quaint and unique businesses on Chincoteague Island. Saturday, November 25 is observed nationally as Small Business Saturday to celebrate the diversity and heritage of small businesses and to encourage us all to shop in our hometown, keeping tax dollars in the community to further stimulate the local economy. Main Street Merchants' Homes for the Holiday Tours
The 2017 Homes for the Holidays Tour will be held on Saturday, December 2nd from 11am-4pm. It is the same day as the charming old fashioned Christmas parade, so mark your calendars and start planning for a fun filled weekend this winter! For this year's tour, we are adding a few special stops... an art studio, a craft cottage and a pop-up shop or two.

"Savor the Season" Progressive Home Tour
5:30pm-9pm. Tour starts at The Museum of Chincoteague Island, 7125 Maddox Blvd.
Relax and enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of the season, on Chincoteague Islands only progressive dinner tour that features 4 courses of delicious holiday delights with wine pairings. You'll be entertained, informed, and well-fed!
Enjoy a first course selection of hors d' oeuvres' at the Museum of Chincoteague Island.
For the second course you will be chauffeured to the Home of the famous Taylor Street Cowboys, where guests can enjoy a Carving Board Cowboy feast amid stylish country decor and a grand yard display.
For the third course, it's off to "Myrtle on Mumford" for some traditional Chincoteague fare . Myrtle on Mumford is a newly-constructed replica of a typical single-story Chincoteague home of the 1920's, with modern amenities added. As you enter the home, you will see a vast assortment of memorabilia from the early 1900's.
For the final course guests will be transported to a Christmas wonderland as they arrive at Christmas Manor, where you will be greeted by none other than Mr. & Mrs. Claus who will be hosting a tour of their vacation home, Santa's brilliant yard display and of course an amazing display of Desserts and Holiday Sweets baked by Mrs. Claus.

Children's Tea Party with Mrs. Claus
2pm. Hampton Inn & Suites, 4179 Main Street. Mrs. Claus, accompanied by Santa’s elves, will travel all the way from the North Pole to be the guest of honor at the Christmas By the Sea children’s tea party. The event has garnered so much attention, and with limited seating you must call now to reserve your child’s seat for 2PM. Mrs. Claus, who knows Santa better than anyone, will show the children a scrapbook of her life with Santa. She’ll offer sing-a-long Christmas songs, games and gifts. After the children have had their hot cocoa, kid-sized sandwiches and Christmas cookies, they’ll have an opportunity to have their photo taken with the Queen of the North Pole. New Year's Eve Horseshoe Drop & Costume Promenade
The end of year celebration that culminates in a promenade of crazy costumes just before the countdown to midnight -- then the lighted horseshoe drops just in time to ring in the new year. To become totally immersed in the oddest of silly visual spectacles, head for the Robert Reed Downtown Waterfront Park around 10:30pm...Prizes will be awarded in various categories. Bring your camera to capture the spectacle, dress warmly, wear a hat and gloves for sure, and comfortable shoes so you can dance, but most importantly -- bring family and friends with you to enjoy the fun that is all Chincoteague! Admission is $4.00/day per person (Children under 12 are free) Local and national carvers and artists of all kinds exhibit and sell their works. Awards are given in various categories. Wooden Easter Eggs decorated by the exhibitors are offered in a silent auction. The Pre-loved Treasures Silent Auction has been a favorite in recent years.

Over 25 great exhibitors showcase some of the finest waterfowl carvings and wildlife art from the area. Meet the carvers and artists. Participate in the many raffles to be held. Most exhibits are for sale! Plus most of the proceeds will be donated back into the community to worthy causes such as the Island Library, the Scouts and the Scholarship Fund, just to name a few! 15th Annual Plein Air Art Show
6pm-9pm. More than 50 fine artists from the Mid-Atlantic and beyond to paint "en plein air" (French for painting outdoors) on Chincoteague and Assateague the week before. On Saturday evening, at the United Methodist Church Social Hall on Church Street, you can see what they've created at a Show and Sale that is free to the public.
